The handling / driving experience is fine, but it'll take you a while before you get it right; you have to meddle a LOT with the settings, it's like an Uncharted puzzle you need to solve before starting a race :)) for instance i though driving assists help the car handle easier/better, but apparently it's quite the opposite; i'm driving now only using ABS no traction or stability control and most cars drive much better than with them on; so you need to experiment quite a bit with the settings (gear ratio, brake bias etc.)

It looks great and I like the franchise, but it is hard to pay money on another racing game when I have Forza 5 to finish. The lack of drivertars in any racing game for me no longer works.Forza 5 was a huge disappointment and I'm glad I moved on from consoles. GRID Autosport so far is a fun game, not super sim but still fun to play and has more track options than Forza 5 at launch.

Grid Autosport Review

Autosport makes some odd missteps with its low-quality cabin view and its flawed endurance racing, and it lacks the customisation options that would’ve empowered us to re-craft cars from the real-world racing series this game mimics, but overall Autosport is Codemasters finally firing on all cylinders again. Importantly, Autosport redresses concerns with Grid 2’s handling model: that it was a one-size-fits-all model honed for easy powerslides. Autosport more closely matches the handling in the original Grid; it still straddles the line between simulation and arcade, but it does ask us to take things a little more seriously than Grid 2 ever did. Even with the driving aids off I found Autosport fairly forgiving, but measured acceleration, steady steering, and careful braking are still key if you want a spot on the podium.

It’s all about the teams, the rivals and the race as you become a driver for hire, specialising in your favourite disciplines or conquering them all in an intense world of professional motorsport. GRID Autosport features over 100 routes across 22 incredible locations, the return of in-car view, authentic handling and the world’s most exciting contemporary and classic high-performance racing cars.

If you enjoyed Racer Driver GRID and the TOCA series, the latest work by Codemasters can not miss in your collection: classic hybrid between arcade and simulator, GRID: Autosport is fun, durable, various and technically spectacular on PC, especially for the valuable lighting effects.

GRID: Autosport is a game aimed at fans of the first GRID. Autosport focuses on different elements than GRID 2 and presents a different approach to racing. Arcade lovers should stay with the previous game, and simulation (well, sort of) fans should consider purchasing Codemasters' new game, even though it's not the prettiest racer out there.

Despite the lack of choice and freedom in the single player side, GRID Autosport delivers some exciting gameplay thanks to its believable driving model and over the top AI. It might lack some polish on the multiplayer side, but it's still a great comeback for fans of the original game.

Where to start...and keep in mind this is based on my singleplayer experience.

The driving is awful. The cars wallow all over the place, they don't grip in turns, yet you have to break at sim-like distances--meanwhile the AI's only goal is, seemingly, to wreck you at every opportunity, or at least shove you off the track or into the nearest barrier. They will honest-to-god plow into you at the startline if they can. It's like multiplayer with twelve-year-olds.

The cockpit cam is pathetic. It's worse than the Grid 2 mod.

No team of your own, no personal livery, no stable full of cars--just mercenarily jumping from sponsor to sponsor and racing whatever they have for you.

The only reason I'll give this anything but a zero is that it looks very nice, all things considered, and has a pretty interesting car list--that I will never fully get to experience because of the godawful nature of the basic game.
